Sirius's wand was by his side now but his grip tightened. He looked away from Remus. His silence spoke for him.
Finally, Sirius swallowed his sob. Of course Remus didn't know. He thought, if he was here then... but he didn't.
"Harry--" His voice was raw with emotion despite his efforts to push the pain aside. But it was overwhelming and all encompassing. It tore at his last threads of sanity even as he tried to cling to them. "He's alive."
